If you would like to participate and identify
solutions to "complex age old problems" that do not seem to go
away; nor do the decision makers seem to making any positive impact
then lets attempt to give the decision makers some OPTIONS with
new and above all, IMPLEMENTABLE solutions using NLT.
THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE MYRIAD OF SUBJECTS
WHERE INDIA NEEDS ITS OWN SOLUTIONS; DESPITE EFFORTS THERE SEEMS
TO BE NO ‘PAST-BASED OR HISTORICAL SUCCESS FORMULA FROM THE WEST
OR EXPERT THEORY THAT SEEMS TO WORK FOR INDIA’.
A Non Linear thought process that can be applied
to all issues is required because one feature is common within
the wide variety of issues:
"Complexity and uncertainty have become
standard components, making forecasting of the future more difficult.
Despite knowing the “right solution” we are unable to commence
the process of implementation as we are handicapped by special
interest groups and the lack of political will to allow change.
This must be accepted by us as a fact, so that we can DEVELOP
SOLUTIONS WITHIN THIS SITUATION AND WITHOUT CONSTANTLY CRITICISING
THIS STATE."

Differentiating Linear From Non Linear Thinking:
The need is to be conscious of the fact that
we use LINEAR LOGIC by reflex due to our tradition, culture, education
and training. The mind is conditioned (hence handicapped) to receive
information, think of the future, and seek solutions BASED ON
REFERANCE TO THE PAST!!! This is no longer relevant for a future,
which will reveal its unique facets unconnected to past patterns.
Our reflexes within linear logic make us prone
to:
- Moralizing about right and wrong:
When using NLT we need to recognize that these are "relative
perceptions" and in changing times there is can be no standard.
The thumb rule for evolving effective solutions is to consider
the current perceptions and what is affecting the majority;
because that is REALITY AND CANNOT BE IGNORED!! (parents and
elders may not approve).
- Our continued reflex to include
our past based perceptions of 'right and wrong':
There is the tendency to suggest the ideal solution based
on what should be done as per correct norms ! NLT will ask
you to focus on 'implementable solutions NOT idealistic ones'
because we have seen and heard enough cliché lectures and editorials
in media and through politicians, about intended actions and
solutions which have never been implemented.
- Solutions that are based on criticism
are usually not sustainable:
In a Non Linear era, we can rarely UNDO a wrong! We are also
TOTALLY aware about what our policy makers should have done
and the mess we are in because of poor decisions and policy.
THE UNFORTUNATE NEED IS TO ACCEPT THE PAST MESS; AND MOVE ON
!! We have to base our solutions on our "current problems
and current environment". We cannot come up with solutions
as we have seen implemented in Singapore or in the USA. It is
likely that these are the ideal solutions BUT we have to consider
solutions which take into account our poor economics, perhaps
accept and factor that corruption will be there while we attempt
improvement.
This Exercise Of Participating In Forums Will
Provide Two Benefits:
- THE FIRST WILL HELP DECISION MAKERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR
THINKING INPUTS ; AS A PERSON WHO IS MOST AFFECTED BY BAD POLICY!!
THOSE WHO DESIGN POLICIES ARE VERY FAR REMOVED FROM ANY EXPERIENCE
WITHIN THE PROBLEM. (This the first PARADOX that shows why
YOU are the right person to come up with solutions and NOT the
so called experts.)
- THE SECOND IS THAT THIS WILL HELP YOU HONE YOUR OWN SKILLS
AND EMPOWER YOU TO SOLVE YOUR OWN COMPLEX PROBLEMS. THEY ARE
SURELY NOT AS COMPLEX AS THE COUNTRY’S SOCIO-ECONOMIC ONES!

CLOSEST TO YOUR INTEREST (remember knowledge and skill are not

IF it is considered suitable within Non Linear logic it will
be put up as a part of the feedback that will allow others to
comment and continue the development of the solution.
THE NLT PANEL WILL GIVE CLUES AND PUT UP
RELEVANT SUGGESTIONS THAT SEEM TO BE TAKING US FORWARD.
THIS WILL KEEP UPGRADING THE FORUM AS PER THE INPUTS FROM
READERS. NO NAMES ARE GIVEN IN NLT AS SOURCE OF CREDIT AS
EVERY INPUT IS CONSIDERED RELEVANT FOR THE MOMENT AND ONCE
AGAIN THE CHANGING ENVIRONMENT WILL REQUIRE NEW INPUTS.
This is new for most of us as we are not used to giving
input without recognition ( our reflex always seeks output
– what is in this for me??)
In this Non Linear era, recognition must be a
temporary accolade because the environment and conditions keep
changing. You should feel satisfied and content to be part of
the solution process because you would also be the beneficiary.
We have to learn to COLLABORATE to develop better solutions that
benefit the majority. Those who have all the resources and
in control of the system are unable to develop good solutions
because they are 'prevented by special interest groups and economic
considerations to do so!! ( Within NLT this is NOT seen as
a critique. We should accept this as a reality and perhaps be
sympathetic to their predicament, because they are controlled.)
We will provide some thinking tools as we go
along. The recommendation however is to always seek to first
identify and use 'PARADOX
TOOLS'. PARADOX EVALUATUON IS THE FIRST TOOL THAT
WILL ENABLE YOU TO IDENTIFY THE BASIC DIRECTION OF THE PROBLEM
AND HENCE TOWARDS THE SOLUTION AND CORRECT THOUGHT PROCESS.
We must first read and remember the 'Edicts
of NLT', where it is emphasized that we must learn to develop
solutions without the reflex need for expert advice, detailed
past knowledge and new resources!!
