Non Linear Thinking believes that there
must be many ways to prove that there is a “science
within chaos” and perhaps a ‘Pattern’ that we
do not see!!. The official studies in chaology
have been encouraged mainly on account of the
number of inventions and discoveries that have
come about as a result of an “accident” and accidental
discovery during scientific and patterned research.
There remains however the understandable “embarrassment”
and resistance for modern science and organized
systems to accept chaos as part of a natural
event and a progressive development.
The absence of pattern is considered unnatural
within common scientific study and based on this: “Our
analytical systems assume that a sequence will be the revelation
that finally explains and analyses an activity".
Thereafter this solution would be the logical
one to correct the “disorder”. Non Linear Thinking would reveal
this to be one of the primary reasons for the delay and inability
of our systems in identifying the true causes, within complexity.
The resistance of medical science to accept
“Holistic medicine”; sudden and total cancer remissions, mind
- control linked cures, diet - based cures are all forms of
ignoring “paradoxes”. Could Cancer be a form of Chaos?
In this Non Linear era; the non-conformity
to past or known patterns, can no longer be the justification
for non-acceptance. It SHOULD no longer be obligatory for
every event to satisfy a predetermined chronology or expected
sequence in order for it to be understood.
Those who disagree here would find it difficult
to go ahead as this logic and belief continues through this
writing.
The word “chaos” was coined for events
that appeared to be haphazard and without direction. The word
itself has become a convenient scapegoat - because the structured
mind likes to see pattern, sequence and rhythm. Non Linear
Thinking would exaggerate to stress that till now it would
seem that:
"Our conventional scientific systems and teaching have
specifically restricted the human mind and itself to the study
of Patterned events or the study of sequential development”.
Energy, Sound, Light, disease, behaviour,
growth, life and death have been ordained by man and science
in patterns, wavelengths, lifecycles and Frequencies.
Those working outside this area were the
very few, the very creative and decidedly different.
Whatever is “Non Linear” has so far been
relatively ignored by the majority. Words like Paradox & Chaos
have almost “prevented” rational study. Now in a Non Linear
era an increasing number of events are being referred to as
“chaos”, and this should therefore have to become a part of
our basic education for future survival.
Today, the young majority are not being taught
to accept “Newsit” (change) as a part of a routine and natural
occurrence. Inclusion of this learning would reduce the “impact”
of change that occurs today and would give us the ability
to adapt, as an every day skill. In the ‘linear era’ this
was considered to be a “unique” virtue. Now it must become
a ‘normal trait’.
Can we attempt to explain 'CHAOS' and
correlate Scientific Chaos with Social Chaos ?
When any matter or mass ( Gas, Liquid or
Solid ) is subjected to an input such as heat - the behaviour
of the molecules and convection currents are defined. There
is a rotational rolling or patterned radiation that enables
the continuing and even spread of the heat (input). The molecules
within the matter being heated accept the increased input
within the mass and behave in an orderly and forecastable
manner. But as soon as the molecules attain “equality” and
even temperature - the patterns cease. Boiling or ignition
would be the next occurrence. This state is considered “chaotic”
- as there is no apparent pattern in this volatility. ( Another
terms coined to express disorder)
This is infact strange, and it should be
observed that the constituents within the mass behaved in
a patterned, orderly and forecastable manner only when and
as long as they were UNEQUAL . They continue to absorb a sustained
, repetitive and defined input till they attain “relative
equality” . THEN they change their orderly behaviour and appear
“chaotic”.
But - this infact is the necessary transition
before anything can change form - from solid to liquid, or
liquid to Gas, Gas to ignition and so on. The change to the
NEXT orderly form is dependent on the 'continuation of
the same input'.
In almost all cases, “Chaos” is the necessary
sequential result or transition that results from a continuos
or repetitive input or pattern.
Thus to facilitate “change” or to bring about
any “next step” - Chaos is the natural state !
Could “chaos” infact be the stage
when all forces are actually integrating and therefore in
harmony?
Could we say that as things get
“equalized”, chaos is the natural condition before there
can be onward progression ?
Could we say that CHAOS must occur
as an indicator of achieving equalization as that seems
to be our consistent search and need within science and
socio-economic order ?
So, Chaos seems to be a state, created
by or having multiple options and directions. It is a point
of TRANSITION, INTEGRATION OR EQUALIZATION.
It could also be the stage when all these
forces merge and coincide to create what we refer to as a
“non - linear” condition. If we attempt to measure the “duration”
of chaos then the extent and length of Non Linear activity
will be seen to be dependent on the repetitive continuation
of the same inputs. Any change in input will cease or alter
the “Non Linear” state. Chaos is thus a controllable event !
We should thus acknowledge that the word
has so far endorsed “our” ignorance. Chaos is not necessarily
the correct definition for what happens. While we can leave
the experts to - find out! We should accept in practice that
chaos is “within” our control because it is created by
our own inputs and is therefore a natural transition for evolving
to the NEXT inevitable form.
To Non Linear Thinking, Chaos is a tangible
result or a state - even though it takes no linear form or
past pattern it can still be controlled and witnessed as a
very predictable “event”.
Linear logic forces us to know “what” is
happening - or why? In a Non Linear era we must “first” accept
what is a fact and has become an inevitable occurrence .Then
based on its presence and its acceptance finding the solution
or answers is easier.
Linear logic has taught us to consider opposing
any situation based on our refusal to accept its presence.
In a Non Linear era we have to first “accept” before we can
oppose!
Within NLT, Chaos is seen to be the result
of 'continued use of old resources' which results in
an obvious occurrence at a specific “point” where relative
“equality” is attained. This point is critical to Non Linear
Thinking and our management skills for the future. We will
call it "Relative Saturation"!
